Work History

Kodak – My first job after graduating from college was with Eastman Kodak Co. in   Rochester, N. Y.  I worked there for 10 weeks, spent 3 years in the US Air Force, and then returned to Kodak for the next two years.

USAF – My first assignment was to Flight School at Ellington AFB in Houston, TX.  After receiving my wings as a rated officer, I was assigned to a Strategic Air Command combat crew in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I served for two years flying in a B-47 bomber. I was promoted to the rank of Captain before being discharged.

CPPD – Consumers Public Power District (which later merged with NPPS to form what is now NPPD)

I was in charge of all fluid systems, including 750,000 pounds of liquid sodium  at the Hallam Nuclear Power Facility (HNPF). I  held a Senior Reactor Operator’s license which is the highest license qualification available for commercial nuclear power plant operators.

GE   –  General  Electric Co.

GE operates the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL)   which is a U S Government Laboratory created to support the U S Navy nuclear program, then administered by admiral Rickover.

I was a Senior Test Engineer at the West Milton N Y Submarine Prototype Facility.  GE’s efforts were directed toward the design and testing of advanced nuclear fuel concepts.

OPPD – Omaha Public Power District

When OPPD applied for a Construction Permit for Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station, the Atomic Energy Commission refused it because they did not have any employee with experience in commercial nuclear power plants.   I was hired to fulfill that requirement and was the Project Engineer for licensing, construction, and start up testing.  I also managed the procurement and contract administration for several hundred million dollars’ worth of Nuclear Fuel.

CDS –  Custom Data Systems, Inc.

CDS was founded, incorporated in the state of Nebraska, and managed by me to provide computer software and hardware to medium sized companies.  I am the owner, president and CEO. It has been a very successful company, even until today.
